Universal Piggy-Back camera mounting
Tiltable camera mounting to fit most telescopes with tube mounting rings.

Take perfectly tracked astro-photos with your Meade LXD55, Helios, Sky-Watcher, Celestron and many other tube ring mounted telescopes. Camera head tilts to allow camera to point in different attitude to telescope. This very rigid mounting is a major improvement over ball-and-socket type attachments. Locking grub screws prevent sudden camera rotations and slips.

A comprehensive bolt-kit is supplied to allow fitting to most ring mount telescopes. If you have a threaded hole or a threaded stud (often with metal or plastic hand-wheel fitted) on the top of the telescope tube mounting rings then this camera mounting will fit your instrument.

The Tiltable Piggy-Back Bracket allows the supported camera to be pointed at any angle regardless of the pointing attitude of the telescope. For use with all LX series telescopes including the 14" and 16" LX200/GPS. For heavier equipment the tilting head can be easily removed and cameras and telescopes can be fitted directly to the supporting plate with the thumb screw provided in the kit. Supplied with all fixings, tools and instructions. NB: Please specify scope aperture size when ordering. We recommend that some form of counterbalance aid be employed with this product - see below.

The Ultra Zoom UAMB
The ultimate digital camera afocal mounting bracket for astrophotography

The Ultra Zoom UAMB (universal afocal machine bracket) will allow you to take stunning astro images with your digital camera. The Ultra Zoom allows virtually any digital camera to be attached to most popular 1.25” Plossl eyepieces and take fantastic astro photographs directly through the eyepiece of your telescope (afocal method). What’s the difference between a “machine bracket” and other digital camera mounting brackets? The Ultra Zoom UAMB has a rapid-motion rack and pinion-driven camera platform that allows the camera to be rapidly repositioned relative to the eyepiece, as dictated by the cameras’ zoom lens. Most mounting brackets have fixed camera positions and cannot easily be adjusted to suit new zoom settings on the camera. (our own Ultra and Ultra Deluxe, as good as they are, can’t easily cope with changes in the position of the cameras’ zoom lens, and neither can the latest offerings of our competitors! See The Expert Says for more information). The Ultra Zoom, in contrast, allows the camera to be moved as quickly as the zoom lens simply by rotating a single control knob. And the camera does not move agonisingly slowly on a long screw thread, as in the competing models (offered by Celestron, Scopetronix, Baader, Lumicon and Optical Vision etc) - with our Ultra Zoom the camera moves as quickly as the zoom (over 100mm [4”] in just two and a half turns of the control knob!). The control features of the Ultra Zoom are all reassuringly chunky and easy to adjust - no tools of any kind are required and all adjustments can be made “in action” at the scope. The Ultra Zoom is unique in the world with these features; unlike the competing model, the Ultra Zoom UAMB was designed with astronomy in mind - not birdwatching! The Ultra Zoom UAMB is manufactured from steel and aluminium and is supplied with a black “duffle bag”- type storage pouch.

An ultra-portable equatorial mounting for fully mobile wide-field photography and globe-trotting astronomy with any small scope

TThe Micro Star-Drive is a robust but ultra-portable German equatorial mount (GEM) that can be operated on its special tabletop “A” frame or mounted on a good-quality photographic tripod (available separately). The mount is electrically motor driven in RA and will perform well for wide-field astro-photography. Easy to set up and control from the battery-powered multi-speed handset. The Micro Star-Drive’s impressive range of features include: self-levelling tabletop “A” frame, removable for tripod attachment; precision-machined solid dovetail plate for cameras and small telescopes; and a polar alignment sight to aid quick set-up. Four 1.5V D cells are required to power the RA motor drive or a suitable 6V external power supply (see AC338 in the Battery Power Supplies section).

Adap-T eyepiece-to-camera attachment system

The heart of the Adap-T system is the eyepiece adaptor ring "A", which fits quickly and easily around the recess exposed by removing the rubber eyecup fitted to most popular eyepieces. Three grub screws achieve a precision fit using the supplied hex key. Please note that an additional T-threaded camera adaptor ring "B" is required to attach a digital or SLR camera.

The 1.6x Magni-Max Image Amplifier
1.25” thread-on supplementary lens for visual and photographic image amplification

A compact simple supplementary lens barrel that boosts magnification
and image scale by 1.6x.

The Magni-Max 1.6x supplementary lens unit threads directly onto the nosepiece of the DigimaxT 40 AC520 eyepiece system (and any other 1.25” eyepiece equipped with a standard filter thread) and increases the magnification by effectively reducing the focal length of the eyepiece by around 60%. In the case of the DigimaxT 40mm that’s a reduction down to 24mm! The Magni-Max gives a magnification power boost of around 1.6x but fully preserves the vignette reducing and camera positioning features of the DigimaxT 40. The Magni-Max has many uses and performs as brilliantly visually as it does photographically. The Magni-Max can be fitted to camera (webcams, video camera etc) nosepieces and delivers the same 60% magnification increase. One of the great benefits of the Magni-Max is that, unlike conventional Barlow lenses, it delivers a powerful magnification boost but only increases the length of the camera or eyepiece nosepiece by 12mm! The Magni-Max supplementary lens system is a twin lens cemented construction and is fully anti-reflection multi-coated. Supplied in a dust and shock proof case.

The Ultra-T is a simple and lightweight way to mount any camera onto any telescope with a 1.25" eyepiece holder or accessory with a standard T-thread, making through-the-eyepiece astro-photography easy. The Ultra-T does not rely on your camera having a filter thread around the lens; instead the tripod socket carries the camera's weight. Clever design allows the Ultra-T to fit directly onto any 1.25" fitting eyepiece as well as any T-threaded accessory. A great way to use the Ultra-T is in conjunction with our Adap-T eyepiece adaptor ring (AC530), which if fitted to an eyepiece allows the Ultra-T to be attached to the top of the eyepiece, eliminates the loss of back-focus and provides a rigid method of attachment even for heavier cameras. A set of three extension tubes to fit standard T-threads

The T-thread extension tube set is a useful and versatile set of aluminium extension tubes that can be used with a wide variety of T-threaded equipment. As spacers they are useful for increasing image scale and magnification. The set comprises three tubes, 6mm, 10mm and 15mm long respectively, each with a male T-thread at one end and a female thread at the other. Finished in hardwearing black anodic dye.
