Introducing the Alignmate-Pro
An innovative micro-computer controlled alignment aid for astronomers - and it’s a night vision LED torch too!

But as if all this wasn’t enough, we thought we’d make the Alignmate-Pro even more useful by including an integral LED torch that can be switched from night vision-saving red light to bright white light. Sorry though - the FM radio and coffee maker will have to wait until the next version!

Although we designed the Alignmate-Pro as a ‘killer’ accessory for the Meade Autostar GOTO system (ETX, LX90 etc), which requires the telescope tube to be set level and pointing true North for correct alignment, it is a useful gadget for virtually all astronomers who face the task of setting up a telescope either in altazimuth or polar mode.

The Alignmate-Pro is no larger than a bar of soap and is finished in a comfortable and attractive impact-resistant black case, with sealed membrane buttons for years of service. It is supplied complete with universal telescope attachment cradle. A PP3 9V battery is required which is not included.

Please note that the Alignmate-Pro is a telescope alignment aid and is only designed to display the true North direction from a local calibrated site - it must not be relied upon for navigation purposes.

This IS the biggest innovation in add-on telescope alignment aids since the invention of the polar finder!

The Alignmate-Pro is a compact hand-held electronic unit that enables you to find and adjust the level of your telescope mount and optical tube, as well as point the telescope in the direction of TRUE North. It does it in seconds - and in total darkness! The level indicator is a cross-pattern of nine LEDs that show tip and tilt level, and display a single blue central LED when level is achieved. The North sensor has two LEDs showing West and East deviation, and a third bi-coloured LED that shows red for North and green (when site-calibrated) for true North. In fact, the Alignmate-Pro cannot actually detect true North - it has an integrated magnetic north sensor (similar to the sensor in the Meade LX200GPS telescopes) and we have designed the unit so that it can be calibrated to show

the true North direction (derived from the telescope when pointed at the North celestial pole or by observing Polaris - full instructions included), as well as magnetic North, with the press of a button.
