The Alignmate is probably our most popular Meade ETX/LX90 accessory with many thousands sold. The Alignmate solves your ETX alignment hassles and allows you to find due north and get a perfect level of your telescope tube in seconds. Simply pop the Alignmate into the eyepiece holder and rotate the instrument until the north indicator on the compass lines up with the telescope tube, make a small local adjustment for your true north deviation, then lock the azimuth axis and simply flip the Alignmate over to reveal the bubble and level the tube perfectly every time. Lock the axis and it's done - you are ready to hit enter on the Autostar and make a perfect alignment! Not only does the Alignmate take all the fuss out of aligning your Meade ETX but it makes a stylish and effective dust plug too!

The Alignmate (AC296) comprises a large bubble level screw mounted on one side of a solid precision-turned aluminium barrel, and at the other end is a recessed quality oil-damped compass

The New Alignmate-Lite (AC580) uses exactly the same quality components as the standard Alignmate but has a lightweight black Delrin body. Beware of expensive imitations - we use only quality British made components.

Solar Observation Filter
Discover the nearest star, our Sun, in stunning detail
with your Meade ETX 60 or 70AT.
 

Our solar filters have been designed to allow direct viewing or photography of broadband solar phenomena (sunspots, faculae etc). The filter is manufactured from glass and has a multi-layered metalised coating applied by a process of evaporation in a vacuum chamber. For safe and secure observation the glass filter is sealed in a high precision black anodised aluminium cell that screws directly onto the thread on the front of the telescope tube. For safety the glass filter is held in the cell with precision machined screws and not glue (or tape!) as in some competitor products. Solar observation can be dangerous - read enclosed instructions carefully.

The Flexi-Mate is one of our best selling accessories for Meade ETX telescopes. The Flexi-Mate has been developed to make your Meade ETX telescope easier and more enjoyable to use. When viewing overhead, Flexi-Mate allows full and accurate focussing - which would otherwise not be possible. The Flexi-Mate minimises the vibration normally caused by touching the telescope to focus it, making all focussing simple and precise, even with gloved hands on a cold night. It also speeds up refocusing after changing eyepieces, and greatly improves precise focussing for astro-photography. Simple to fit in two minutes - full instructions included.

Easy-Fit Flexible Dew Shield
 

Our Easy-Fit flexible dew shield will combat dewing and keep stray light at bay. The shield features black fibre flocking on the inside for improved image contrast. The shield slides along the tube for storage or will undo and store flat if required.

Anti-dewing Heating System for ETX60 & 70AT
 

This complete temperature-controllable anti-dew system is the best way to keep dew away from your telescope optics all night long. The kit comprises a controller with six temperature-control steps and a lens cell heating tape. The controller needs to be plugged in to a suitable 12V DC power supply available separately. The tape is plugged into the controller and is then simply attached around the front of the optical tube with an elasticated Velcro strap. When assembled the lead length is 2.8m (110"). The kit also includes a splitter to allow the use of an eyepiece dew heater (AC350 purchased separately, see section on Anti-Dewing Equipment). The controller can be plugged into the Portable Astro Power Station (see below AC338) and at a typical low to mid-range heat setting the Power Station would keep your optics dew free for over 8 hours! The easiest way to get into astro-photography! The Ultra is a simple and lightweight way to mount any camera onto the ETX and take pictures through the instrument's eyepiece. The Ultra does not use your camera's filter ring, instead the tripod socket carries the camera's weight. Clever design allows the Ultra to fit virtually every camera available. Fits directly onto any ETX eyepiece (see Astro Photography section for alternative products).

The eyepiece tray has been designed to place eyepieces and your standard handset or Autostar™ conveniently to hand during an observing session. The EP tray also reduces telescope vibration by stabilising the base of the ETX when fitted to it's own tripod. The tray simply fits underneath the ETX between the base and the tripod head. This simple steel plate allows your ETX to be attached to photographic tripods, clamps and other supporting devices employing 1/4" (standard on most tripods) and 3/8" (standard on "pro" tripods) UNC or Whitworth screw fitting. The Micro-Wedge is a full-height aluminium field tripod designed to allow Altazimuth operation. The Micro-Wedge features handset and eyepiece storage on a special holder at the base of the head - see picture.

Specification: 46" (117cm) high fully extended in Altazimuth mode, the wedge accommodates latitudes from 35 to 90 degrees (note: the ETX60&70AT does not function in polar mode).

The Micro-Wedge is an ideal portable way to mount your ETX for use on tabletops, windowsills and photo tripods. It allows the ETX60 and 70AT to be securely mounted on tabletops etc using the detachable "A" frame or, with this detached, on any suitable photographic tripod (standard 1/4" or 3/8" BSW thread fitting). The users latitude setting can be adjusted between 23 and 90 degrees. (note: this feature is not usable with the ETX60 and 70AT as it cannot be polar aligned). The wedge has a built-in spirit level and the tabletop "A" frame has adjustable levelling feet. Complete with instructions and all adjustment tools - finished in black powder coating.

Our AC power supply will save you the worry and expense of batteries and ensure that your scope is always ready to go. Supplied with 1.6m (62”) long lead with fixed PP3 type connector. As with most devices that operate on mains voltage - the AC power supply is not waterproof and must be protected from excessive damp.
