ETX-60 and ETX-70AT

The ETX 60 and 70AT are great first telescopes, and you can try out some exciting photographic projects with these scopes - however, the drive system of these telescopes was not designed to carry the weight of heavy SLR (Single Lens Reflex) cameras, and despite the availability of products that allow such cameras to be attached we strongly recommend that cameras to be attached to the ETX 60/70AT be restricted to the lighter digital models. This is no great handicap to your adventures - you will be amazed at the results you can get with even a basic digital camera used with our Ultra digital camera support.

The Ultra digital camera support (PH047) is a simple way to attach any digital camera (provided it has a tripod fitting on the base) to the 25mm and 9mm MA eyepieces that came with your scope - and it will also fit any other eyepieces you may have. With this set-up you’ll be able to get great images of the Sun (with solar filter! see FI092), Moon and brighter planets. The Ultra is also perfect for terrestrial photography with these telescopes.
